Even though the freeway never backed up into Rexburg, it congested almost immediately south. Reports coming in over the radio claimed it took 6 hours to drive 70 miles south to Pocatello. That was the route we took to the eclipse, but it seemed a waste to sit in that traffic when we could go exploring. So we took the 33 west, where there was no traffic.
