To the east, the dam of El Capitan Reservoir. Although it has a capacity of 112,800 acre-feet, because of its risk of 'liquifacting' in an earthquake, water is allowed to be stored no higher than 30 feet below full on a long term basis, so it can really hold no more than about 86,000 acre-feet of water for long-term storage. I'm not sure what 'long term' means in this context, though, since in 2011 it took nearly 6 months to draw it down to that level from its May 1st peak.
