Obituary: Clifford Arnold Calder, 69 years and 2 days of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this
life on Monday, February 27th, at his residence. He was born on February 25th, 1943 in Somerset, Kentucky,
son of the late Celesta Singleton Calder and Marvin Calder. He was a forklift operator for Lincoln County
Pallet. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Science Hill, Kentucky and enjoyed spending time
with his church family. He loved his church and also enjoyed farming. He was survived by two sons, Michael
David (and Jennifer) Calder of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and Anthony Wayne Calder of Somerset, Kentucky; three
grandchildren, Alonda Lynn Calder, Cammie LeShea Calder, and Mitchell Calder; three great grandchildren,
Damien Rowe, Cameron Caudill, and Lilly Hampton; three step grandchildren, Matthew Burkhart, Zachary
Burkhart, and Brandon Burkhart; three sisters, Laverne "Tootsie" Whiles of Science Hill, Kentucky, Edith
(and Jack) Hall of Somerset, Kentucky, and Ann Mullins of Eubank, Kentucky; a special nephew, Jim Cromer;
two special friends from Greystone Manor, Brent and Brenda; and a host of other family and friends who
mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Celesta and Marvin Calder; one sister, Norma RoJean Cromer; and
three brothers-in-law, Glen Mullins, Harold Whiles, and Louie Cromer. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 3rd, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Patrick Butcher and Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial in the Singleton Cemetery, Pulaski County.
