The photo on the left and right was donated by Paul Andrew Mize. Paul wrote on the following on the back of
the right hand photo, “This is an old picture of my Mom and Dad with the oldest son of my sister Irene. This was
taken at Ludlow, Kentucky in a park located close by. Time sure does pass quick, makes you wonder where it goes. My
mother was always thin, Dad was also thin until later in his years when he put on weight.” (Paul A. Mize 1980)
The left hand photo says, “This is my Dad (Carl A. Mize). I don't know what year, he was sitting in the
back yard. He has one leg tucked under the other. It looks like he has only one leg, ha! He had a little radio
in his hand and a cup of beer on the ground while he listened to the ball game. He lived only six years after retiring.
He lived to be 76. I sure miss him and my mother. Every year I try to go back to see them both. I love them both
very much , as everyone does their and other. You really miss them when they are gone.” (Paul Mize 1980)
Carl worked on the Mize farm after the death of his father, Jack Mize, in Pulaski County, Kentucky. When
Jack died, Carl provided the tombstone for his father who is buried at the Eden Memorial Cemetery located in Pulaski County.
