Shelby Mize photo He was born on May 30, 1927 in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, the son of the late Hamp and Alice Jones Mize. He was a retired truck driver for Mead Containers in Norwood, Ohio. He enjoyed beagle hounds and mowing the yard. He was survived by his wife, Rebecca Weller Mize, whom he married on July 17, 1981 in Jellico, Tennessee; two sons, Danny Ray (and Ruby) Mize of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and David Scott Mize of Trenton, Ohio; a stepson, Gary (and Melanie) Smith of Hamilton, Ohio; two daughters, Tonya (and Gary) Robbins of Goshen, Ohio and Barbara (and Robert) Burkett of Somerset, Kentucky; two stepdaughters, Joyce Dyer (and Brad Lynn) of Fairfield, Ohio and Janet (and John) Thompson of Hamilton, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Hamp and Alice Mize; three brothers, Reece Mize, Emmett Mize, and Jay Mize; a sister, Lucy Hibbard; and a grandchild. Visitations were held on Friday, February 27th, 2009 after 6:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
