2007 - 1 P.M. at the Buffalo Baptist Church Interment: Mize Cemetery Sherman Davis Mize, age 74, husband
of Anna Mae Taylor Mize, of Mt. Vernon, KY. passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at his residence.
He was born on September 18, 1932 in Cederville, KY a son of the late Cecil and Beatrice Lee Shouse
Mize. He was a 20 year employee of Kerns Bakery, was a farmer and mechanic. He was a member of Buffalo
Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon and Brodhead Masonic Lodge, and was a Shriner. His hobbies and interests
include farming, hunting, collecting knives and rocks. On November 21, 1951 he was united in holy matrimony
to Anna Mae Taylor, and from that union came three children - Michael, JoAnn and Lisa. Those left to mourn
his passing include his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Anna Mae Mize of Mt. Vernon,KY; His son - Michael Loren Mize
(Marlene) of London, KY; Two daughters - JoAnn Walker (Ben) of Richmond, Ky. and Lisa Mize of London, KY.
Five grandchildren-Amy Hacker, Travis Mize, Shaina Lassiter, Robbie Ellis and Shannon Book. Eight great
grandchildren - McKenzie House, Taylor House, Jordon Rice, Tiana Ellis, Aubrey Lassiter, Anna Mize, Caleb
Hacker and Cayden Hacker. A sister - Joy Thompson of Indianapolis, IN. Two nieces - Penny Ashby and Karla
Stapp; as well as a host of friends and neighbors. Visitation for Sherman Mize will be Thursday, July 19,
2007 from 6 - 9PM, with Masonic rites being conducted at 7:30PM, at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals
and Friday, July 20, 2007 from 10AM - 1PM at the Buffalo Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted
Friday, July 20, 2007 at 1PM at the Buffalo Baptist Church, on KY 1249 with Bro. Larry Proffit officiating,
burial will follow in the Mize Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital or Hospice Care Plus in
memory of Sherman Mize.
