The grave site for Millard Filmore and Betty Lay (Leigh) is located in the Mount Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky. The spelling of the last name was change from “Lay” to “Leigh” to distinguish this branch of the Lay family from others in the area at the turn of the century.
Minnie Alice Leigh told this story about Bonnie and Goldie Leigh. She stated that Bonnie and Goldie fought bitterly over the control of the property left by their father. After the settlement of Millard’s will was completed Bonnie died. Bonnies’s husband, Bill Loveless, sold the estate and moved to the state of Florida. Bill married after moving to the state of Florida.
