William Z. Baker was born to J.B. and Catherine Baker about 1859 in either Rockcastle or Laurel, and died in 1933. He was married to the Nancy Baker pictured her and then to Martha B. Renner, daughter of John W. Renner and Sidney Arnold. He married Martha in 1890 (there is some speculation that William and Martha didn't actually marry); she married Lysander Ball in 1895 and then, after Ball's death, married Crit Smith.
