Video Trip to Raspberry Cemetery, Rockcastle County, Kentucky

This is a video about a side trip off of Route 1249 or Sand Springs Road to the Raspberry Cemetery, located between Billows (at the Rockcastle River Bridge on old Route 80) and Mount Vernon, Rockcastle County, Kentucky. The road to the cemetery is graveled and single lane through dense isolated forest. This cemetery has a combination of named tombstones along with hand carved un-named rock markers. The cemetery is well maintained and somewhat small and lies next to the Bullock Cemetery which is smaller. The Bullock Cemetery is less than 100 yards from the Raspberry Cemetery. The grave marker for Maranda Mize, the wife of Isaac Mize, is located in the corner of the cemetery. The marker is quite small and is marked "Mize." It is hard to find but with a little tenacity can be found.

This is a continuation of the visitation to Raspberry Cemetery during the rain storm. Marinda Tyree Mize was born during August 1844 and between the years 1862 and 1864, she married Isaac Mize. She died during August 1917.

This is the return trip from Raspberry Cemetery back to Route 1249 (Sand Springs Road).
