Part 1: We drive up to the Walter Green Lay and Minnie Alice Calder home located in Science Hill, Kentucky directly across from the cemetery. This is our first stop of the mini-tour. This was the last house owned by the couple. As children, we spent many a summer nite sleeping on the roll out couch in the front room listening to the tick of Walter's Cuckoo Clock and the whistling of the train when it rolled through the town.
Part 2: Looking at the cemetery where Ed Fulton Mize, the son of Jack Mize, is buried. He is buried in an unmarked grave in the oldest part of the cemetery.
Part 3:Driving up to Main Street in Science Hill over the railroad tracks. Don't mind the bell ringing. It's the seat belt dingy! We stopped at the Science Hill School were the Lay family children attended.
Part 4: Visiting the Carl Dick Store in town, the Library, Barber Shop and the Beauty Saloon, along with the usual train thundering by while we drive through the side streets. The new Science Hill Methodist Church is a beautiful sight. Not much has changed in this little village!
Part 5: Another side street in the sleepy town. Beautiful scenary is the main attraction of this All American town.
Part 6: View of Main Street and then a quick look at Rail Road Street. A quick stop at the old Science Hill Hotel which is now abandoned.
Part 7: The Fire Department, City Hall and the Carl Dick Store and some more side streets.
